Can dogs catch parvo and distemper after having vaccinations?

Ok at 3:00 this afternoon we had to take our 10 week old poodle puppy to the vet and he is there for the weekend with a mystery diagnosis and i am searching for help. My vet did a parvo test and it was negative but felt the baby had distemper. The breeder i got him from gave me vet records indicating two sets of shot (we have had him for 7 days). Can he catch this horrible disease if he was vaccinated? Also his sister we got as well and she checked out fine today when we took TJ because we were scared that she may get or be sick as well.
