Distemper parvo/w corono combo vaccine for dogs?
Emo B asked:
I’ve heard that just the regular parvo vaccine lasts longer in terms of immunity (approx. 3 years or more).. is that true? My dog has the previously mentioned shot. She’s a 2.5 year old small mini poodle mix. After a ton of research, I’ve made the decision not to over vaccinate her.. the new recommendations for most vaccinations are actually 3 years, compared to the old-school thought of 1 year. I did read somewhere, though, that a) there’s no need for a corona shot if your dog is an adult, and b) the distemper/parvo part of the vaccine is less effective because the disease they inject is already dead, or something to that effect.. and therefore, the immunity is shorter, about a year compared to 3. What do ya’ll think? Informed answers are preferred, please.
The unfortunate part is that vets cant necessarily be trusted enough to ask this kind of info from.. not that I’m saying that in a malicious way.. it’s just that you can’t ask the baker how to make bread, and you can’t ask a mechanic how to fix your car. If you know what I mean..

Editor’s Note:
Prevent Parvo from developing if your dog has been exposed to the virus without the toxic chemicals that are present in most vaccines.
